Why did I receive a bill from DermDX New England?

Your physician has chosen DermDX New England to diagnose and interpret the specimen removed at your recent doctor's appointment.

Who is responsible for paying for pathology services?

Ultimately, it is the patient's responsibility to pay for services.

Who bills my commercial insurance for pathology services rendered?

DermDX New England has contracts with many insurance companies and will process an insurance claim with your insurance carrier on your behalf. If we do not contract with your insurance provider, we can still file a claim on your behalf. However, there is no guarentee that your insurance provider will pay the full amount. The patient is responsible for any unpaid balances.

What about claims to Medicare?

DermDX New England will process a claim for Medicare on your behalf. If you have secondary insurance, we can also file a claim with the insurance provider.

What information should I have ready when I call?

Please have your insurance card or explanation of benefits (EOB) from you insurance company so our Billing Representative may assist you.
